This happened to me on Friday as your zone 22 steward for 2025.
On Friday December 20, 2024 I put my name in the hat for the zone 5 steward at Hughes for 2025. I was told that there would be a vote. I am not sure when the vote will happen, but call the union office if you’re interested in knowing.
Here is my resume: Long time city carrier advocate, monthly contributor to The Postman’s View, NALC Steward for zone 6/25, NALC Steward for zone 22, and always speaking truth to power.
If I am your steward here is what I promise:
1. To treat each of you with dignity and respect.
2. Never settle on discipline grievances with management.
3. Always file ODL equability each quarter to get you free money, if possible.
4. Always file Article 8’s to get you free money when management violates the National Agreement.
5. If you’re hurt on the job, help you with the OWCP process.
6. Ensure management treats each brother and sister with dignity and respect. Article 19 M-39 115.4 and M-01242.
7. No horse trading of grievances or discipline. A contract violation is exactly that.
8. I will always be advocating for you the city letter carrier no matter who I am meeting with.
