Below are some links to some important carrier related issues. One is for Build a Fighting NALC which is hosting a nationwide zoom meeting this Sunday, and the other is for Mike Caref who is currently the NALC Region 3 NBA, who is hosting a virtual rap session that may be touching on the current status of our lack of a NA.

The convention in Boston was interesting with a lot always going on. I encourage everyone to go to nalc.org go to the members only section log in and go to the 2024 National Convention “button” and view all the workshops that were available to the delegates. You should review at the very least the “Mail Counts & Route Inspections” workshop presentation. Educating yourself as a carrier is the best way to deal with abusive management, and has been caught creating phantom routes to cheat on route times with the goal to eliminate your route. Please go through all the workshop presentations, there is a lot of great information that will help you as a carrier. Education is the building block to improving your working conditions.
The next thing, ask your steward questions about how to be treated fairly, as no carrier deserves to be abused by management. If your steward doesn’t provide a satisfactory answer call NALC Branch 231 and leave a message. Management’s responsibility to you are outlined in part in M-39 115.4 and M-01242 Don’t let management abuse you.

The above is a recent win that your union branch won at the formal level of the grievance process. This happened because we had carriers giving statements, and helping their fellow brothers and sisters. If you aren’t at Cedar station we need your help to get this type of settlement at every station in Fresno. This is by no means the end, but just the foundation that every sister and brother needs to contribute to building. With your help, there is no limits to what we can achieve here in Fresno. When we were in regional training in Las Vegas I had a class that was taught by 2 arbitration advocates. This is the type of settlement that they would love to take before an arbiter.

Here in Fresno, management types seem to like to complain that some stewards are being “difficult”. To this I say we are the least “difficult” bunch around, if you treat the City Letter Carrier humanely.
Go Go Chiefs the Super Bowl Champions, isn’t Chiefs red so beautiful. Winning the Super Bowl 3 times in a row will be a great achievement.
