I hope all due paying members had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year.
Brothers and sisters we are at a crossroads. Here at Hughes, and I am sure throughout Fresno and NALC Branch 231. We have us due paying members abused and mistreated by management with no avenue to address the issue(s).
Currently in Fresno at Hughes station we have Executive Board Members, steward, and safety captains….. inspired to attempt to get me disciplined, or worse by having management attempt to remove me. Sadly, this isn’t the first time, and combined, the two current executive board members at Hughes have “successfully” provided management statements that resulted in the removal of a dues paying member. The current “pledge” signed by these executive board members as a whole is meaningless.
I(RLC Michael Johnson) am currently dealing with the issue of my executive board member/steward/safety captain complaining to Hughes management about me for bringing back mail on 2 loops because of dogs which falls under Article 14.
I know you are saying Article 14 covers safety Michael, and you have nothing to worry about, but we all know that isn’t true under the current branch leadership. We know that the LMRDA is meaningless to some on the executive board and certain chair officers, and they most definitely are violating the pledge they signed in order to try to punish me and the others that oppose their bootlicking of the management in Fresno.
I recently had a conversation with a due paying member, and they told me they had no issues about what was currently going on at Hughes station when I mentioned to them that the current VP was here at the station. Then miraculously a day after the VP was not at Hughes this carrier had several safety issues.
My response to this carrier was that they should have told the VP when he was here, and that they should contact the VP immediately if they truly believed there was an issue.
I don’t know if the carrier did anything, because in my past experience they like to complain but when it comes to putting their name to paper against management they refuse because of all the special treatment they get that most of us carriers at Hughes station are not granted.
At the end of the day all I can say is vote for the CLC ticket in 2026, because James Henry and the rest of the CLC ticket is the only hope we in the rank and file have. Without the CLC taking over the only thing that is left for us, is the DOL(LMRDA), NLRB, and the withdrawal of our dues.
Until next time brothers and sisters you need to actually come to the monthly branch meetings and in general vote against the boot lickers and for us in the rank and file that actually put forth proposals that the establishment and USPS management hate or strongly dislike.
