This is the free money Fresno installation willingly gave to our brothers and sisters in the clerk craft. The clerks like free money, they ask for steward time, write statements, and are rewarded with a lot of free money. The clerks are expecting even more free money given to them by the Fresno installation in the upcoming months. Their union still has cases for free money pending out of Cedar, Clinter, and Hughes. Congrats to our brothers and sisters downtown, and may our sisters and brothers at Cedar, Clinter, and Hughes in the clerk craft get even more free money from the Fresno installation. When a union is unified, holds the management in the Fresno installation accountable for their abuse and violation of the National Agreement, and other transgressions free money follows.
I have been hearing rumors of management types delivering mail out of Cedar and Clinter, but it seems none of the ODL/WA carriers at those stations(if true) want any of the free money they deserve if the violation is true. If you want free money then you need to start taking notes of who is scheduled to deliver the pivots on the floor as you the ODL/WA carrier are leaving for the street. Out of Cedar in the past I have had brothers and sisters call me saying management is violating Article 1, when I ask for statements those sisters and brothers refuse to provide statements. If you are leaving the station and there are 2-3 or how many ever pivots at the case document each route, ask for steward time, and notify the branch with that information if you suspect management is out delivering mail at your station. You must be willing to give a statement to get the free money you deserve if there is in fact a management type out delivering mail. The union can then request the Route Carrier Daily Performance Report, and the Workhour Workload Report.
Last November/December out of Hughes carriers probably could have received a bunch of free money from the Fresno installation if they would have asked for steward time, and filed Article 1 & 7 grievances. When the carriers of the Fresno installation want to follow the lead of the clerks union, and get all the free money you deserve you must ask for steward time, document the violation(s), and write statements for the union. Written and signed statements hold a lot of weight in arbitration, in each of the classes I took while at training in Las Vegas that was the common theme pushed by each and every trainer.
I can all but guarantee, that the settlement the clerks union won for free money from the Fresno installation is turning heads at district. When the carriers of Fresno unify, file grievances, win grievances especially big money grievances, we will start seeing positive changes in our working conditions. The management types will change either willfully, or as mandated by an arbiter their behavior. It all starts with you my brothers and sisters. You must stand up for yourselves as you are the only one that can stop the abuse of you.

Here in Fresno, management types seem to like to complain that some stewards are being “difficult”. To this I say we are the least “difficult” bunch around, if you treat the City Letter Carrier humanely.
Go Go Chiefs soon to have back to back to back Super Bowl Champions, isn’t Chiefs red so beautiful. Winning the Super Bowl 4 times is going to be a great achievement.
